Beaches

Dinas Dinlle-A pebble beach at high tide and long, sandy beach at low tide. Plenty of free parking all the way down the beach. Shop, Cafe, toilets and ice-cream as well as a childrens play park. Watch the small planes come into Caernarfon airport or take a trip up the hill for some amazing views.

Red Wharf Bay- a sandy bay and an area of outstanding natural beauty on the east coast of Anglesey. 2 pubs on the north-west side.

St Davids Beach- No parking directly at the beach but accessible from Benllech coastal path, a flat, sandy beach with lovely clear water. Behind the beach is a tavern which serves lovely food and has amazing views.

 

Newborough/Llanddwyn Beach- A blue flag beach with nature reserve and forest known for it's red squirrel population. Walk over to Llanddwyn Island but be careful as you may be stranded for an hour or so until the tide disappears again.

Llanfairfechan Beach- mainly a pebble beach when the tide is in but when the tide goes out, it reveals a huge expanse of sandy beach, backed by the victorian seaside town of Llanfairfechan and overlooked by the Penmaenmawr mountain. There is free parking and a promenade with a pavilion cafe.

 

Penmaenmawr Beach- just around the side of Penmaenmawr mountain is Penmaenmawr beach, with free parking all down the promenade and looking out over the Menai Strait. It's many facilities make it a popular family beach. There is a cafe, amusement arcades and beach chalets for hire, as well as an outdoor paddling pool and play area. A popular beach for windsurfing, sailing and canoeing.

Trearddur Bay- A huge sandy beach, sloping to the sea with rock pools and slipways and a protected bathing area. A pub nearby, 2 golf courses, childrens play area, and toilet facilities all within easy reach.

We have mentioned a few beaches to give you a start but there are so many other beaches all over the coast of Wales, From Criccieth with its castle to Barnmouth with its palm trees and back over to Llandudno with its pier. There is sure to be a perfect beach for everyone just waiting for you to explore.
